This project was to create a website portal and associated applications to connect BC businesses with Olympic Games-related opportunities. To provide a useful and seamless tool for the public, it integrated:
News and event data streamed from various databases.
The Federal Government’s Source Can portal.
The BC Government’s BCeID and Common Logon Page authentication system.
The BC Government’s Bid procurement system.
Spot Solutions worked with all the stakeholders to develop the requirements of the project and determine the content of the many integrated websites. We built a complex web service interface using industry-standard SOAP/SML technologies to provide a seamless link between the provincial BC Bid website servers in Victoria and the federal Source CAN website servers in Ottawa, and we built a comprehensive search engine that could display business contacts and procurement opportunities from the many sources.
